Obituary of Lona Arnold

Lona Arnold, age 76, of Poughkeepsie, died November, 2, 2010 at Vassar Brothers Hospital. Mrs. Arnold was born March 1, 1934 in Belize. She is the daughter of Stella Vargas. She was privately taught in Belize. She was a 14 year local resident, previously of Yonkers, NY. She retired from Brooks Fashion in Manhattan as an Assistant Buyer in 1996. She loved to travel, play cards and she taught exercise classes to seniors. She was a member of the Senior Tri-Town. She married Harold A. Arnold on October 17, 1960 in Belize. In addition to her husband, she is survived by: her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Luis Stansmore of Lagrange, NY, her son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Denise Arnold of Long Island and her grandchildren: Selina Stansmore, Melissa Stansmore, Mariam Arnold, Trent Arnold and Megan Stansmore. She was pre-deceased by her brother Philip Vargas. Calling hours will be held on Friday, 11/5/10 from 4:00 to 8:00pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, 11/6/10, at 10:00am at Holy Trinity Church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
