Obituary of Richard Barboza

Richard Paul Barboza, 42, a lifetime resident of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on June 10, 2010 at Westchester Medical Center. He had been the owner of Richie's Lawn and Landscaping, Inc., in Poughkeepsie. He was born on April 22, 1968 in Poughkeepsie, the son of Robert M. Barboza and Maria (DeMello) Barboza. He married Cynthia Elter on December 24, 1989 in Hyde Park, NY. His wife survives at home. His son, Derek, and daughter, Rachel, also survive at home. He is also survived by his brother, David Barboza and his wife Karen, his sister, Robin Ashback and her husband John, his father, Robert M. Barboza and mother, Maria Barboza, his father in law, Frederick J. Elter and mother in law, Barbara S. Elter, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and his dogs, Jack and Tobey. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Richard's name to the charity of your choice. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at 11am at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Poughkeepsie. Burial will take place in St. Peter's Cemetery in Poughkeepsie.
