Obituary of Gladys Bessette

Gladys M. (Rugar) Bessette, 70, a lifetime resident of the Town of Poughkeepsie, died November 29, 2009 at The Pines at Poughkeepsie. A homemaker, she was a member of the Arlington Reformed Church. Born in Poughkeepsie, NY, on October 14, 1939, she was a daughter of Edward and Gladys Lee Rugar. Survivors include her son, Lenard Bessette; Son, Lonnie Bessette and his companion, Holly; daughter and companion, Darlene Bessette and Monty; son, Eric Bessette; son, Brian Bessette; seventeen grandchildren; Twentyone Great Grandchildren,ten brothers; and one sister. She was predeceased by her husband, Guy Bessette; three brothers; and three sisters. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2009 from 4 pm to 8 pm at the Timothy p. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2009, 7 pm, at the funeral home during calling hours with Steve Pfluger officiating.
