Obituary of Donna Burkhardt

Donna M. Burkhardt, 63, of Millbrook, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie. Born in Millbrook on Sept. 26, 1946, she was the daughter of George and Lela McCormick Decker. She grew up in Dover Plains and was a graduate of Dover High School. On May 29, 1967, she married Wayne T. Burkhardt at Grace Episcopal Church in Millbrook. Her loving husband survives at home. In addition to her husband, Donna is survived by her son, David A. Burkhardt; her daughter and son-in-law, Dawn L. and George R. Thomas and her beloved grandchildren, Austin, Hailey, Connor and Logan. She was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Wayne Decker. Donna was an avid Yankee fan. She loved to read, enjoyed scrapbooking and collected dolls and stamps. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations may be made in her memory to the Millbrook Rescue Squad. Arrangements are under the direction of the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie.
