Obituary of William DeMattio
William "Billy" M. DeMattio of Pleasant Valley entered into eternal rest on November 17, 2010 after a courageous battle with adrenal cancer. Billy was born in Poughkeepsie, NY to Robert J., Sr. and Maria G. "Josephine" (Belmonte) DeMattio on May 13, 1970. Billy married Melissa "Missy" Brilliant, daughter of Harold and Elizabeth "Betsy" Brilliant of Fishkill, NY on December 6, 1997. They were blessed with the births of Nicole Brianna and Danielle Faith. Billy was a loving husband and father and generous friend to all. He was employed at Adam West Construction, Inc., Croton, NY since 1999 as production manager. He was an active member and past president of the Italian Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. Billy was a dedicated volunteer at Holy Trinity PTO and CYO.He took great joy in coaching his daughters Pleasant Valley softball team. Billy was the consummate family man cherishing every moment he spent with them. He was also a lifelong NY Yankee fan. Billy touched the hearts of everyone he knew and will be deeply missed. Beside his wife, daughters, parents and In-Laws, he is survived by brothers, Robert, Jr. and partner Michael Farrelly, of Providence, RI; Michael, wife Shylah and daughters Adrianna and Michaela of Poughkeepsie, NY; and sister-in-law Rebecca "Becky" Brilliant and husband "Rob" Fusaro of Poughkeepsie, NY. He also leaves many uncles, aunts, cousins, countless friends and Labs Mia & Jesse. Calling hours will be held on Sat., November 20, 3:00pm to 6:00pm and Sunday 2:00 to 6:00pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, November 22 at 9:45am at Holy Trinity Church, Poughkeepsie, NY. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Adrenal Cancer Program, Univ. of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center, 2800 Plymouth Rd., Bldg.100, Ann Arbor, MI 48109.
