Obituary of Frank Dolfinger
Frank Dolfinger, Jr. went home to be with the Lord on May 13, 2010. He was born on September 11, 1930 in Fishkill, NY. He was the son of Frank Dolfinger, Sr. and Anna Richardson, who predeceased him. Mr. Dolfinger graduated from Wappingers Central School. He excelled in sports, especially football, when he became affectionately known as "Dolly" by his teammates. He went on to play with the Beacon Bears football team. After school Frank enlisted in the US Navy, serving on the destroyer, the USS Mullany during the Korean War. After the service Frank worked at IBM for 5 years. He then worked in his own trucking business working on residential construction and road jobs for 23 yeras. Mr. Dolfinger then sold his business and went to work for the Texaco Research & Development Center in Glenham, NY. As a Project Technician he worked on new energy research. During his 12 years there he received 9 patents, becoming Senior Research Technician. Frank retired from Texaco in 1992. He enjoyed 12 years relaxing at home. He then took a part time job at the Green Oak Florist as a delivery driver. Mr. Dolfinger and his wife Linda, who survives at home, spent 42 loving years together. They have 3 very wonderful children: Dawn Remsburger and her husband Dennis of Pleasant Valley, NY, Laura Imperati and her husband Joseph of Livingston, NY, and Matthew Dolfinger and his girlfriend Jenn Lane of Poughkeepsie, NY. Frank also has wonderful grandchildren: Jessica, Kaila, Chance, Wyett, Julia, Dennis Jr., and Kaitlyn. There is also a new great granddaughter, Corra Ann, and several nieces, nephews, aunts, an uncle, and cousins. Mr. Dolfinger is also survived by a brother, Raymond Dolfinger and his wife Sheila of Wappingers Falls, NY, a brother, Clifford Dolfinger of Fishkill, NY, a sister, Margaret Speer and her husband Joseph of Lusby, MD, and a sister, Jane Atkins of Fishkill, NY. Frank also has a brother in law, Karl Sundblom and his fiance, Kim Remsburger of Staatsburg, NY, and a brother in law, Eric Sundblom and his wife Diann of Pleasant Valley, NY. Mr. Dolfinger was predeceased by a sister, Anna Mae Dolfinger and a brother ,Louis Dolfinger. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc. 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. Calling hours and service will be on Monday, May 17, 2010 from 4-8pm. A funeral service will be on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at 11am at the Hyde Park Union Cemetery, Rt. 9G, Hyde Park, NY.
