Obituary of Melissa Flores

Melissa Flores, 46, of Poughkeepsie; passed away on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. A local resident for the past 11 years, she had previously resided in Yonkers. She was a member of St. Martin dePoress Church. Born in Brooklyn on June 28, 1963, she was the daughter of Asuncion and Carmen Berrios Colon. She graduated from college with an Associates Degree. On Oct. 14, 1983, in Brooklyn, at St. Mary's Church, she married Johnny Flores. Her husband survives at home in Poughkeepsie. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Johnny Flores, Jr. and Jonathan Livingston Flores; her sister, Belinda Colon, Maryland, and her father, Asuncion Colon, Florida. She was predeceased by her mother. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 14, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Pougheepsie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Martin de Porres Church. Burial will follow at Poughkeepsie Rural
