Obituary of Susan Folster

Susan Folster Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Susan (MacIsaac) Folster, 60, a lifelong resident of Dutchess County, died on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at home, after a courageous battle against brain cancer. She was surrounded by her family and friends. She was born August 19, 1950 to Louise and Angus MacIsaac, who both predeceased her. She graduated from Arlington High school in 1969, and earned her AAS degree from Dutchess Community College in 2002. On October 5, 1969 she married William Folster in Holy Trinity Church in the city of Poughkeepsie. Mr. Folster survives at home. In addition to her husband, she is survived by their 3 children: Michelle, Chris and his wife Katrina, Karen and her husband Jeff Lesperance; 4 grandchildren: Jared, Miranda, Quinn, and Sophie; a sister, Jeanne Fifield; a brother, John MacIsaac; a large extended family; and the “Greenhouse Gang.” She was a volunteer EMT at Sloper Willen Ambulance for about 15 years. She worked at the Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union for several years, and most recently was a medical assistant at the Mid Hudson Medical Group in Poughkeepsie. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, November 2 from 4-8 pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Church, 775 Main Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603 on Wednesday, November 3 at 9:45 am.
