Obituary of Shirley Gee

Shirley A. Gee, 79, a resident of Hyde Park since 1970, died Monday, Aug. 24, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital. Mrs. Gee worked as a LPN while living in Michigan. She also worked as an accountant and bookkeeper at Sears and Syms Electronics as an inspector. Being her husband was in the service, she lived in many places due to his assignments. She lived in Alaska, Florida and Dayton, OH, just to name a few. Mrs. Gee was a member of Regina Coeli Church in Hyde Park. She had a love for skiing with her husband, loved to travel, loved dolls, ice skating and country music. Born Dec. 21, 1929 in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of Adam and Anna Robrushi Holme. On July 7, 1951, in Rhode Island, she married Hubert Bud Gee. Mr. Gee died Nov. 1, 2007. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Keith L. and Wanda Gee of Staatsburg; her daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Shawn LoFaro of Highland; her granddaughter, Nicole Gee; her grandson, Charlie LoFaro; her sisters, Ruth Skwirz, Beverly Noelte, Norma Schlageter, Brenda Berry and Carol Wallis and her brother, Robert Holme. She was predeceased by her brothers, William and Roger Holme. Calling hours will be 2-4 and 79 p.m., Friday, Aug. 28, at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 29, at Regina Coeli Church, Hyde Park. Burial will be in the Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, 342 South Ave., Poughkeepsie.
