Obituary of Joseph Ingrao
Joseph J. Ingrao, Sr., 77, of Clinton Corners, passed away on Friday, Oct. 23, 2009 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. A local resident since 1957, he was employed as a Pharmacist at the Arlington Pharmacy, retiring in 1989. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of St. Peter's Church. He loved his family the most in life. Anyone who knew him, knew that he would help them out in any way he could so that they would meet their needs. Born in Brooklyn on Dec. 20,1931, he was the son of Salvatore and Maria Renda Ingrao. He was a graduate of Lafayette High School and St. John's University Pharmaceutical College. On June 24, 1962, he married Gail A. Bradley at Holy Trinity Church. Mrs. Ingrao survives her husband at home in Clinton Corners. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter and son in law, Melissa and Jack Abuin of Long Island, NY; a son and daughter in law, Joseph Ingrao Jr. and Nancy Thacker of Woodstock, NY; a son, Brad Ingrao of Washington, DC; a daughter, Jennifer Ingrao of Newtown, CT; his grandchildren, Sofia Abuin, Ryan Ingrao and Amelia Ingrao; a brother, Thomas Ingrao of Sebastian, FL as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Angelo and Frank Ingrao. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009 from 4 to 8 pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel of St. Peter's Parish, Hudsonview Dr., Poughkeepsie, Father James A. Garisto will officiate. Burial will follow at the Shultzville Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in his name to the East Clinton Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 181, Clinton Corners, NY 12514.
