Obituary of Gertrude Manna

Gertrude E. Manna, a resident of the Town of Poughkeepsie since 1976, formerly of Tarrytown, NY, died March 22, 2010 at Lutheran Care Center. She was 79 years old. Mrs. Manna was employed as a secretary for Sears in Poughkeepsie, NY. She retired in 1996. She was a very active member of the Poughkeepsie United Methodist Church. Mrs. Manna was a devoted wife and loving mother. She did volunteer work for Second Hand Rose. Born in Tarrytown, NY, on February 13, 1931, she was the daughter of Milford and Mary Sackett Vibbard. She was a graduate of Tarrytown High School. On July 11, 1955 she married Aloysius R. Manna in Tarrytown, NY. He predeceased her on May 19, 1996. Survivors include her son, Gregory R. Manna of Pleasant Valley, NY; daughters, Kathryn E. Schultz and her husband, Phillip of Plano, TX, Cynthia Kibe and her husband, Timothy of Glenham, NY, and Suzanne Faber and her husband, Kevin of Staatsburg, NY; grandchildren, Ross Schultz and Christian Faber; brother, Donald Vibbard and his wife, Judy; sister, Shirley Gardner and her husband, Richard of Pittsburg, PA; and several nieces and nephews. There are no calling hours. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, South Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY.
