Obituary of Lucinda Minckler
Lucinda Garibay Minckler, 73, of Poughkeepsie, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. A 53 year local resident, she had previously resided in San Antonio, TX. She was employed as a Food Service Worker for the Marriott Corp. and also worked as a waitress and Murray's Restaurant and Dutchess Treat. She loved to visit Casinos and was an avid bowler. Born in San Antonio, TX on Feb. 12, 1936, she was the daughter of Manual and Petra Perez Garibay. On Sept. 17, 1961 she married Lawrence Minckler, Sr. in Poughkeepsie. Mr. Minckler survives his wife at home in Poughkeepsie. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Paul Slater of Poughkeepsie; daughter, Anna Martorana of Highland; daughter and son-in-law, Ida Pearl and David Schwarz of Melville Long Island; son, Lawrence "Cisco" Minckler of Poughkeepsie; son and daughter-in-law, John and Leann MInckler of Poughkeepsie; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Sue Minckler of Poughkeepsie; 20 grandchildren; three great grandchildren,; her sisters, Catalina DeLeon ; Oralia Silva, Selema Garza, Eva Claudio and Bertha Fabian all of San Antonio Texas. She was predeceased by her son, Richard F. Minckler and also several siblings. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, July 26, 2009 from 4pm to 8pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 27, 2009 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery.
