Obituary of John Moyer

John E. Moyer, Jr., 55, a resident of Staatsburg, NY, passed away on October 11, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital. He had been a Mechanic for the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Dept. from 1975 to 2006, retiring in 2006. He was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on July 21, 1955, the son of John E. Moyer, Sr. and Erna Robinson Moyer. On January 9, 2002, he married Dorothy J. Lancaster in the Town of Poughkeepsie. His wife resides at home. Survivors include his sons, John E. Moyer, III, and Kenneth Moyer of Highland, Brian Palmatier and Stephen Palmatier of Staatsburg, his parents, John E. Moyer, Sr. and Erna Moyer of Newburgh, three sisters and two brothers, as well as several nieces and nephews. John's family would like to thank the nurses of South Circle 5 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center for all their help, care, and kindness. A special thanks to William and Jo Ann Johnson for their help taking care of John during his illness.
