Obituary of Daphne Peterkin

Daphne Alexandria Peterkin, 86, of the Town of Poughkeepsie, passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2010 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. A local resident for the past ten years, she had resided in St. Andrew, Jamaica. She was employed in accounts for Post and Telegraph Companies, retiring in 1983. She was a member of St. Andrews Parish Church , St. Andrew, Jamaica. Born on August 29, 1923 in St. Thomas, Jamaica, West Indies, she was the daughter of Larkland and Marie Thomas Tulloch. On December 16, 1950 in Jamaica, West Indies, she married Hugh Marshall Peterkin. He predeceased his wife in 1965. She is survived by her sons, Robert of California; Donald of Poughkeepsie; Marshall of Jamaica; Paul and John, both of Poughkeepsie; her sisters, Edith Reid of Jamaica and Elsie Tulloch of New Jersey; her daughters in law, several grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2010 from 12:30 to 2 pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie. Funeral services will be held during visitation at 1pm in the funeral home. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
