To the Palumbo and Prenting Families, Please accept my condolences on the loss of Mary Nell. I had the pleasure of being both a friend and colleague with Mary Nell at Poughkeepsie Savings Bank in the late '80's and early '90's. I will always remember her beautiful smile and sharp wit. I am terribly sorry for your loss. Donald Goess.

Dear Joe, Grace, Charlotte, and Lucy, My heart goes out to you in losing your wife and mother to this disease. She was & will always remain a bright light and gentle woman. She knew how to have fun, laugh and enjoy life! She was taken from you, and from this earth too soon! I know she is in a better place and is no longer suffering. She is dancing, smiling and protecting you all from where she will always remain, until you, one day will meet up with her again. My college years would not have been the same without Mary Nell and I still hear her laughter in my head! That is what stays with me - her face with a smile and her laughter. I loved watching her interact with you all, because the love and care was so apparent between all of you. I remember this from when you visited our home a few years back and when I came to see her in July. It was wonderful to see the love and caring you all had! I truly enjoyed my last visit with her and will remember that day for the rest of my life! Words cannot describe my concern for you and your family, but pray that you will be watched over and healed of your pains. We will all miss her terribly! G-d bless you all and may you be comforted by her love for you forever and ever! Ilene

Dear Ted, My mother-in-law (Lillian Balm) called this evening to tell us about your daughter's passing. We are all so sorry to hear about your loss. Lillian remembered Mary's wedding as if it were yesterday. Lillian is quite shaken by this news and wanted us to send her condolences. We have three daughters about the same age as Mary's girls. What a tragedy to lose their mom and your daughter so young. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and her husband and daughters. Jocelyn and Robert Humphries

I really don't know what to say - what could I say to ease your pain from the loss of Mary Nell. It just doesn't make sense. I met Mary Nell at the mothers group when Grace was little. I always thought of Mary Nell as the strong silent type with a big heart. She will always be remembered. You are in my thoughts and prayers. It was a pleasure knowing her.
