Memories of playing cowboys in our NY apartment smoking it up, âCareerâ games and hanging up your tools in the exact place you made the outline on the wall, memories I will always treasure. Never beat you at computer solitaire, you never kept score, but it was fun. When I fix a door frame or a window sill I remember I got it from you. You asked me when I called, âwhy not just email?â and I told you because I wanted to hear your voice. I cannot do that anymore, but I will replay your words in my mind forever. I will look at pictures and things you made and remember who you were and what we were to one another. We each had our own relationship with you and as your daughter; I had mine with you as well. Each in our own way we shared your life and you ours. Michael and I sent you balloons Sunday from a hilltop at the lake. Patriotic for the Navy, hearts for love, a black one for emptiness in my heart. âI Love Youâ ones, gold ones for our love for you, a flag and a note to you all the way to heaven. For all the love and care from mom and everyone, thank you. I will always love you dad, love Lin.

He is my Dad. A perfectionist in all that he did for as far back as I can remember him. He was a hard worker, a skilled craftsman. He loved his tools; he collected them and carried them wherever he went. âYou never know when you might need themâ he would say. He had his favorites like Oreo cookies; baby back ribs; Applebeeâs steak but high on that list was Burger King. He loved his computer (those Smiley Face emails), surfing on the Internet, making greeting cards, playing Solitaire, and exchanging jokes with his Navy buddies. Though he was stubborn, steadfast and unchangeable in his thinking on any topic we loved him and accepted it as part of who he was. He wasnât fond of the cold weather, loved his home in Florida and although he was a quiet man in expressing himself he loved his wife and he loved his family. I am deeply grateful for the love and care that he received from Mom, unwaving in her love, from neighbor friends and from family close by these last months. He will be missed and the loss is deep but recall the good memories tucked in your hearts.
