Obituary of Joseph Rogers

Joseph T. Rogers, Sr., 57, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009 at home. A resident of the Town of Poughkeepsie for most of his life, he worked at various lumber yard throughout Dutchess County. He worked at Blue Seals Feeds in Fishkill and Tarkeet in Vails Gate. He was a member of DeMoley. He was also a member of the Blessed Kateri Church, Route 82, LaGrangeville, where he was also a Eucharistic Minister. He loved Nascar and Tony Stewart as well as his grandsons, Lucas and Logan and his dog, Gizmo. Born in Poughkeepsie on Jan. 14, 1952, he was the son of John V. and Sarah J. Miller Rogers. He was a graduate of Arlington High School. On Jan. 22, 1972 he married Rita Bogdanowicz at St. Peter's Chapel in Hyde Park. Mrs. Rogers survives at home. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Joseph Jr. of Poughkeepsie; Matthew and his wife, Sabrina of Poughkeepsie; a sister, Charlotte Keto of Hyde Park; a brother Richard Rogers of Hyde Park; half sister, Peggy LeFevre and her husband, Frank of South Carolina; half sister, Bobbie Bandami and her husband, Angelo of Rhinebeck; sisters in law, Dorothy and Rene Bogdanowicz of Poughkeepsie; and Barbara Fisher and her husband, Gary of Queens, NY; as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Mon. Nov. 9, 2009 at 10 a.m. at the Blessed Kateri Church, Route 82, LaGrangevillle, NY. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
