Obituary of Irma Rugar
Irma H. Rugar, 65, of Clinton Corners, previously of Brooklyn, died Friday, May 29, 2009 at home. Mrs. Rugar was a teacher for the Pine Plains Central School District, retiring in 1997. She was a member of Dutchess County Home Bureau, Rug Hooking Guild of Dutchess County and the Millbrook Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Born Sept. 11, 1943 in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of Philip and Brodine Tompsen Hofacker. She received her Master's Degree in Science. On July 2, 1966 in Poughkeepsie, she married Raymond B.Rugar. Mr. Rugar survives at home. In addition to her husband, she is also survived by her son, Bruce Rugar of Pleasant Valley; her son and daughter-in-law, Philip and Sue Rugar of Clinton Corners; her granddaughters, Jessica and Rebecca Rugar; her sister, Phyllis Mueller of Greenville, SC; her nephew, Ronald Mueller of Greenville, SC; her niece, Christie Campbell of Greenville, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be 11 a.m., Friday, June 5, at the Mid County Rod and Gun Club, 690 Waterbury Hill Rd., Unionvale, NY. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, attn: Memorial Donations Dept., 501 St. Jude's Pl., Memphis, TN 38105 or Millbrook Central Schools Scholarship Fund. Arrangements are under the directions of Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie.
