Obituary of Venetta Smith

Venetta D. Smith, 56, a resident of Poughkeepsie, NY, passed away on August 5, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital. She had been a Sales Coordinator at King Fixtures, Manhattan. She was a 15 year local resident, having previously resided in Brooklyn, NY. Venetta was a member of the Faith Assembly of God Church, Poughkeepsie, she loved to travel, and enjoyed basketball and bowling. Venetta was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 3, 1953, the daughter of William Smith and Lillie Cammon. She attended Hunter College, and received a B.A. in Physical Education. She is survived by her daughter, Erica Johnson of Poughkeepsie, her son, Alex Johnson, also of Poughkeepsie, her sister, Deborah Rooks of Pine Bush, NY, her brother, Calvin Smith of Brooklyn, NY, her nephew, Carl Smith, and her niece, Coretta Smith. Services and burial are private and at the convenience of the family.
