Obituary of Lester Starr

Lester D. Starr, Jr., 81, a lifetime local resident, died January 26, 2010 at The Pines in Poughkeepsie. He attended daily living class at the Jewish Community Center in Poughkeepsie. He loved to sing and go bowling. Born in Beacon, NY, on April 7, 1928, he was the son of Lester D. and Helen Meloling Starr. Survivors include his sister, Marcia Kane Morse of Poughkeepsie, NY; niece, Marilyn Bocchino of Red Hook, NY; and nephews, Dale King of Poughkeepsie, NY and Sheldon Hell of Newburgh. The family of Lester would like to thank the many men and women who took care of him most of his life. There will be no visitation. Services are private and will take place at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Fishkill Rural Cemetery, Fishkill, NY. Memorial donations may be made to the Arlington Reformed Church, Raymond Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. Arrangements are under the direction of the Timothy P.
