Obituary of Joseph Studer
Joseph John Studer, a resident of Poughkeepsie, passed away. He was born in 1925 in Penns Grove, New Jersey. He was the son of Joseph and Catherine Studer. Joe Studer (he preferred to have everyone call him Joe because he thought "Joseph" was far too formal) worked for many years for Federal Bearing including during WWII when the company produced critical components for the war effort. He retired from The Barden Corporation, Danbury, Ct. He was a very hard worker and was a devoted and caring son, brother, husband and uncle. He is survived by his loving wife Mary Anne. He is also survived by his sister Helen Detmer of Poughkeepsie, brother John (Jack) Studer and Jack's wife Gloria of Stony Creek, NY, brother Francis Studer and Francis's wife Marilyn of Poughkeepsie, as well as 16 nieces and nephews and a sister-inlaw Eileen Mac Donnell. He was preceded in death by his parents John Studer and Catherine Neuwirth Studer of Poughkeepsie as well as his sister Eleanor Messina of Highland, New York, and a nephew, Paul Studer of Poughkeepsie. Msgr. Farley of St. Mary's in Poughkeepsie will officiate funeral services at noon on Tuesday September 21st with visitation hours between 10 a.m. and Noon also on Tuesday September 21st. Visitation will be at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. in Poughkeepsie. Burial will be at St. Peter's Cemetery.
