Obituary of Gerard Tammaro

Gerard M. Tammaro. 55, a 35 year local resident, died Thursday, Sept. 3, 2009, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Mr. Tammaro was employed as a Computer Operations Manager at Central Hudson, Poughkeepsie. He was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Church who loved art, woodworking, and playing the guitar. He was loved by all his family and those who knew him. Born on October 14, 1953 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of Mary Nicolosi Tammaro, who survives in Wappingers Falls, and the late Dominic J. Tammaro. He was a 1972 graduate of Lakeland High School and attended both Dutchess Community College and Marist College. On May 28, 1978 he married Joanne Pluchino in Tarrytown, NY. Mrs. Tammaro survives at home. In addition to his wife and mother, Mr. Tammaro is survived by his daughters, Jacquelyn Karlic and her husband, Steven, of Raleigh, NC and Lauren Tammaro of Garner, NC; sisters, Marie Lovelett and her husband, Jon, of Beacon and Patricia Costanzo and her husband, Anthony, of Wappingers Falls, Patti Graham and her husband, Donald, of Lagrange, and Rosemary Weis and her husband, Mike, or Orlando, Fla. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009 from 5 pm to 8 pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2009, 9:45 am, at Holy Trinity Church. Burial will follow in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, 342 South Ave., Poughkeepsie.
