Obituary of Elizabeth Tiso

Elizabeth Tiso, 69, a resident of LaGrange, passed away on August 8, 2010 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She had been a Teacher at PS 86 and 153 for NYC School District, retiring in 2003. She was a local resident since 2001, having previously resided in Bronx and Westchester. She was a member of the NYC Teacher's Union, loved to do needle point, travel, draw, and work around the house. She was born in Bronx, NY on December 26, 1940, the daughter of Paul Fomin and Josephine Blaschko. She obtained her Master's degree from schools in New Rochelle. On November 17, 1996, she married John Tiso in Mahopac, NY. Her husband survives in Poughkeepsie, NY. She is also survived by her son; Kevin McNamara, Peekskill, NY, son and daughter in law; Brian and Roseann McNamara, Mahopac, NY, daughter and son in law; Elizabeth and Luis Novoa, Pleasant Valley, NY, granddaughter; Nicole Wuersching, granddaughter; Katrina Wuersching, grandson; Luis Novoa, brother; Michael Paul Fomin, Warwick, NY, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Joan Lally.Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Calling hours will take place on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 from 6pm to 8pm and Wednesday August 11, 2010 from 4pm to 8pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on August 12, 2010 at 11am at St. Mary's Church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
