Obituary of Paul Wallace

Paul D. Wallace, 67, a lifelong resident of Hyde Park, died Friday, October 9, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital, Poughkeepsie. He was employed as a laborer for the Local 1000, retiring in 1997. Mr. Wallace was a member of the VFW Post 170, the American Legion Post 1466, and the United States Marine Corps. He was a board member for the VFW Post 170 and volunteered much of his time there. He also did a lot of volunteer work for the Marine Corps Moms of Dutchess County. Born in Poughkeepsie, NY, on April 16, 1942, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Margaret Wermuth Wallace. He was a graduate of Poughkeepsie High School. Survivors include his sister, Alice Wallace of Poughkeepsie; sister and brother-in-law, MaryAnne and John Coe of Hyde Park; sister, Barbara Brink of Hyde Park; brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Doreen Wallace of Hyde Park; brother and sister-in-law, John and Charlotte Wallace of Pleasant Valley; sister and brother-inlaw, Joann and Robert Bloomer of Palm Harbour, FL; sister and brother-in-law, Arlene and Stewart Burns of Clinton Corners; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Charles Wallace and Kenneth Wallace. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, October 13, 2009 from 4:00 pm to 8 pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2009, 11:00 am, at Union Cemetery, Route 9G, Hyde Park.
