Obituary of Dorothy Williams

Dorothy M. Williams, 90, a resident of the Town of Poughkeepsie since 1971, previously of Croton-on-Hudson and Yonkers, NY, died Sunday, September 6, 2009 at The Pines at Poughkeepsie. Mrs. Williams was a homemaker who loved to garden and travel. Born on September 19, 1926 in Greenwich, CT, she was the daughter of the late Hazel Van Tassel Eisler. She was married to Henry T. Williams, who predeceased her in 1966. Survivors include her sons, Henry T. Williams, Jr., and his wife, Rachel, of Phoenicia, NY and Bruce E. Williams and his wife, Rosalie, of Elton, MD; daughter, Margaret "Peggy" Anderson and her husband, Max, of Indiana; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by six brothers. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2009 from 1 pm to 2 pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at the Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, 342 South Ave., Poughkeepsie, following calling hours.
