Obituary of Arthur McLaughlin

Arthur McLaughlin (Pop) 96 passed away peacefully on  February 2rd 2022.  Son of the late Henry and Ruth McLaughlin he was born on August 25th 1925 in Brooklyn NY.  On May 20th, 1958 at St. Patrick’s Cathedral he married the former Ellen White. Mrs. McLaughlin preceded him in death on June 3rd, 2009.

Arthur served in the Army and was honorably discharged in 1952.  He was a US postal worker for 35 years in Poughkeepsie and Wappingers Falls.  After his retirement he volunteered at the Vanderbilt Garden Society.  He loved to be in the garden.  He loved to ski, juggle, play hand ball, draw and take vacations.

First and foremost I would like to thank the Thompson House for their most outstanding care of my father while he resided there for six years.  I cannot begin to thank them for their professionalism, care and dedication.  So a very big thank you to all.

Arthur was predeceased by his wife Ellen McLaughlin and his daughter Mary Ann McLaughlin and many cousins and relatives.  He is survived by his daughter  Theresa Wilczewski of Poughkeepsie.  He was a loving father that will be missed greatly.

Graveside services will be on Saturday February 12th, 2022 at the Holy Trinity Parish Nativity Chapel in Linlithgo NY at 10:30am.  Arrangements were handled by the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie NY 12603.
