Obituary of Carmela Abbate

Carmela “ Carol “ Abbate 77 of Poughkeepsie NY. Died at Vassar Brothers Medical Center April 28, 2008. She was a Secretary at IBM Poughkeepsie. Before working at IBM, she worked at Spackenkill Schools as a School Aide and also worked in New York City in the Garment Industry. She was a Local resident Since 1957. She was a member at St. Martin DePorres Church. Loved to be with her Family, doing crafts and spending time with her beloved Twin Sister. She was an avid Bingo player and Card Player. Born in Manhattan, NY On April 28, 1931. She was the daughter of Carmelo Trimarchi and Angela Greco. She was married to Anthony John Abbate September 15, 1957 at Our Lady Of Sorrow Church. Anthony predeceased her October 20, 1994. Carmela is survived by the following Daughter and Son in-law; Elena and Vincent Sassone of Rhinebeck NY Daughter and Son in-law; Angela and Thomas Catanzaro of Poughkeepsie Daughter and Son in-law; Linda and Charles Marcinelli of Poughkeepsie Daughter and Son in-law; Carol and David Palazzolo of Poughkeepsie Son and Daughter in-law; Salvatore and Kristine Abbate of Dallas Texas Grandchildren; Toni-Marie, Jessie and Casie Karosos, Anthony Giammatteo, Jackie Catanzaro Anita and Matthew Hoyt, Christina, Gina and Alexandra Palazzolo, Olivia and Andrew Abbate Two Great Grandchildren Anthony and Bryan Hoyt, 8 Step Grandchildren and 2 Step Great Grandchildren. Her twin sister Katherine Busuttil of Long Island, Two Brothers Santo Trimarchi of Jersey and Anthony Trimarchi of Long Island. Several Nieces and Nephews. She was Predeceased by a Brother Joseph. Funeral Services will take place 10:30 am May 2, 2008 at St. Martin DePorres Church Poughkeepsie. Burial will follow at St. Peters Cemetery, Salt Point Turnpike, Poughkeepsie, NY. Calling hours will be Thursday May 1, 2008 from 4pm to 8pm
