Obituary of Robert Appleholm

Robert E. Appleholm, 55, of Town of Poughkeepsie, died December 25, 2008 at home. He was an employee of the Wappingers School District. Previously of Yonkers, NY, he was a local resident for 22 years. Mr. Appleholm was a member of NYSUT. He had a certificate in Master Gardening from Cornell University, loved to travel, read and the outdoors. He cared greatly for his family and loved being with Kim and Kayla. Everyone that knew Robert loved him. Born Nov. 12, 1953 in Yonkers, NY, he was the son of Frederick N. and Cecelia Nugent Appleholm. He attended Sacred Heart High School in Yonkers, NY. Survivors include his companion, Kimberly Gallagher at home; daughter, Kayla D. Appleholm, Poughkeepsie; brother and sister-in-law, Frederick T. and Carol Appleholm of Hopewell Junction, NY; sister and brotherin-law, Patricia A. and Thomas Devine of Sommers, NY; as well as several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Hospice for all their compassion and care of Robert over the last couple weeks. Memorial donations may be made in Robert's name to Hospice Foundation, 374 Violet Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. Calling hours will be held Monday, Dec. 29, 2008 from 5-8pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. Funeral service will be held at 7:30 during visitation. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
