We are so sad, and shocked, to hear of John's passing. We shared many good times at the Hudson valley Homebrewers, at The Beechtree, and at Gentleman Jim's.

So sorry to hear of John's passing. I had the good fortune of knowing John since his brewing days in Suffern. I will fondly remember him as an all-around good guy, and an expert in his field. May the grief of his family and friends soon be replaced by fond memories of wonderful times spent together.

The loss of a good friend like John is felt deeply. We have had many good times together and so very glad to have know him so well. The world will never be the same without John in it. Every firework display we watch and beer we drink will be our reminder of a life ended much too soon. All the best to you Linh as you pass the difficult days ahead. We loved John, too.

My condolences!! I have known John since 1985. Kind of lost touch over the years. When we did hang out we always had fun. I recall back in '86 when John, Rich and myself brewed our first batch of beer...a porter. It came out terrible, but he was not discouraged. He and I later took a class about brewing at the Milan Malt Shop shortly there after and he was then hooked on brewing. We had a great time on our bowling team ... Monday night football at Rich's ... West Point games ... Yankee Games .... camping at Stillwater ... Gardening at Stonykil ... his arcade style video games (especially that tank game he had) ... helping him clean out his house when he first bought it ... the Gore Mountain trips ...He was always upbeat and positive and will be missed. My last contact with him was a while ago on a camping trip to Stillwater. Oh the stories we all could tell about John ... He will be truly missed!

Our sincerest sympathies to the family. John was a very important person in our own lives. To know him was to love him and his smile was always there. The world will not be the same without him. We will truly miss him and think of him whenever someone mentions either beer or fireworks. Our best to you, Linh as you face the difficult days ahead and thank you for allowing us to be part of both your lives.

John was one of the best people I had the pleasure to call a friend. He had many passions and much knowledge but getting him to talk about himself wasn't always easy. I had the great pleasure of brewing with him at home (in a fishtank) and later at Gentleman Jim's. I also judged with him and shared many homebrews. They are all memories of John I'll never forget. Be well my friend we will miss you and condolences to the family. Whenever I see lightning I'll know you are backstage.

At present, I am at my mother-in-law's house in Poughkeepsie. A few minutes ago, my wife pointed out John's obituary in the Journal. Both of us knew John when we lived in P'OK until 1996. I saw him a few times after that and several of my friends on Long Island knew of his work as a brewer and thought very highly of him. His passing is a loss to us all. He was one of the nicest guys you could ever meet. The world is emptier than it was a short time ago. Dean C. and Mary A. Nataro
