Obituary of Ronald Callahan

Ronald A. Callahan, 69, a resident of LaGrange, all of his life, died on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He was a self-employed Mason, went to Arlington High School, a member of Holy Trinity Church, Poughkeepsie Elks #275, Exempts Fireman's Association, American Legion Post 1302, LaGrange Fire Department Station #2, and loved to golf, boat and travel. Born June 19, 1939, in Poughkeepsie, he was the son of James and Alice Quirk Callahan. On October 11, 1958, he married Christine Loomis, at Holy Trinity Church, Poughkeepsie, she survives at home. Survivors include son, Ronald Jeffrey Callahan of Poughkeepsie; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Pete Bertolozzi of Hyde Park; daughter and fiance, Darleen Callahan and Jason Sleight of LaGrange; son, Richard Callahan of CA; grandchildren, Shannon and Shawn Whalen, Zachari and Darleen Bertolozzzi; sister, Joan Scaccia of Patterson, NY. He was predeceased by three brothers, James, Thomas and Gary Callahan. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 7, from 4pm to 8pm at The Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. The Poughkeepsie Elk's Lodge will be conducting a Memorial Service at 7pm during visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wed. Oct. 8, at 9:45am, at Holy Trinity Church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, LaGrange Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY.
