Obituary of Margaret Cary
Margaret Cary, 85, of Town of Poughkeepsie, died July 1, 2008 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She was a homemaker and had been a local resident all her life. Margaret was a member of the Moose Club of Hyde Park and was a member of St. Peters Church. She was loved by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a person who gets everyone around her involved. She loved to go to family parties and gatherings. She also enjoyed playing BINGO. Born in Poughkeepsie, NY, on January 25, 1923, she was the daughter of Michael DuPilka and Margaret Galvin. She attended schools in Poughkeepsie. On December 31, 1943, at St. Peters Church, Poughkeepsie, she married James C. Cary. He predeceased her on July 8, 1997. Survivors include Daughter; Barbara Kowalski, Poughkeepsie, NY; Daughter and Son In-law; Linda and Thomas Harding, Staatsburg, NY; Daughter and Son-In-law; Colleen and Gary McGrath, Hyde Park, NY; Grandchildren; Brian and Melanie Chambers, Edward and Laurie Kowalski, Gregg and Gina Kowalski, Sherry McGrath and Joy and Mike Frazier; Ten Great Grandchildren; Brothers and sisters- in-law; Joseph and Carrie DuPilka and Michael and Barbara DuPilka; Sisters and brother in-law; Eleanor Robertson and Marie and James Arvan; and Sister in-law Eleanor DuPilka. She was predeceased by Brother, Frank DuPilka and Twin Brother, John DuPilka and Sister, Marrietta Guido. Memorial donations to: Lutheran Care Recreational Department, Route 44, Poughkeepsie, New York 12603. Calling hours will be held Sunday July 6, 2008 from 4pm to 8pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. Funeral service will be held 11:00am on Monday, July 7, 2008 at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery Community Mausoleum. Burial will follow in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, South Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY.
