Obituary of Dolores H. D'Angelo

Dolores (Dodie) D'Angelo died peacefully at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach, FL on Saturday, November 8, 2008. Dodie was born in Tulsa, OK on September 23, 1929 to Douglas Howe and Alice Kimlin Howe of Pleasant Valley, NY. Dodie was raised by her grandparents, Alex and Lieda Howe. Dodie attended Arlington Schools. On June 12, 1949, Dodie married Andrew D'Angelo of Poughkeepsie at St. Mary's Church. She is survived by her loving husband, Andrew and her four children, David D'Angelo and his fiancee Debbie Melious of LaGrange; Drew D'Angelo and his wife, Mary of Hyde Park; Susan D'Angelo Meister and her husband, David of Boca Raton, FL and Daniel D'Angelo of Vero Beach, FL; seven grandchildren, Jessica, Nichole, Kyla, and Danielle D'Angelo of Poughkeepsie and Benjamin, Aaron and Sarah Meister of Boca Raton, FL; also three great grandchildren, Jacob, Makayla and Lillianna. Dodie is predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Diana. Dodie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, she enjoyed playing golf with her friends and family. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2008 from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, at 9:45 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church, 775 Main St., Poughkeepsie. Entombment will follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please direct donations to VNA Hospice House, www.vnatc.com or the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org. Due to the many friends and family in both New York and Florida, the family will also arrange a memorial service in Vero Beach at a later date.
