Obituary of Samuel Desole

Samuel M. Desole 89 of the City of Poughkeepsie died at home on Tuesday October 4, 2011. Born in Rome February 17, 1922, he was the son of Joseph and Antoinette Daniello Desole. Samuel has been a local resident since 1957 previously from New Paltz and Mt. Kisco. Samuel was a graduate of Marshall College in Huntington West Virginia. He was a Math Teacher for the City of Poughkeepsie School District, retiring in 1977. In October of 1947 he married Mary Margaret Thomas, she survives at home. Samuel was a member of the Poughkeepsie Elks # 275 and the Italian Center and was an avid fisherman and loved to golf. Samuel is survived by his wife Mary at Home; son and daughter in-law Joseph and Nancy of Poughkeepsie; grandchildren and their wives Thomas and Karen Gannon, Joseph V. and Ebony Desole, Charles and Jamie Castrogiovanni and Matthew D. Desole. Samuel is also survived by a sister Jean St. Germain of Florida and numerous great grandchildren. Samuel was predeceased by a son Daniel Desole in 1981, three sisters Helen Coutant, Madeline DeRosa, Josephine Ganung and a brother Daniel Desole. Calling hours will be held Thursday October 6, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie New York 12603.Funeral services will be held 10am Friday October 7, 2011 at the Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
