Obituary of Barbara DiUglio
Barbara DiUglio was called home to glory on Monday, Nov. 10, 2008 at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. Barbara was born June 12, 1953 to Frank and Alice Pisiak of Brooklyn. A graduate of Brooklyn Technical High School, Barbara began a career in Con Edison in 1972. Barbara completed her BA from Mercy College in Human Resources and held various positions of increasing responsibility with Con Edison, culminating in Manager of Human Resources at Indian Point. Barbara retired from Con Edison in 2000 and began working with Grey House Publishing Company as an Office Manager. Barbara was married to Anthony DiUglio in November 1998 at Grace Lutheran Church in Yorktown, where she served on the Church Council. The couple resided in Poughkeepsie. Barbara is survived by her husband, Anthony; stepdaughters, Amanda, Emily and Abigail; her sister and brother-in-law, Alyce and Vinny Iannoni and their two sons, Vinny and James. Barbara was active at Reach Out Church in Hyde Park. She co-lead the Thursday Night Praise Services at Bard College, has mentored Tres dias weekends for women, minister to women at Over Comers Church in Oradea, Romania; participated in the Food Pantry and woman's ministries at Reach Out and was Red Hat Queen Mother of the Delightful Dolls Poughkeepsie Chapter. Barbara touched the lives of many people in all walks of life and through it all, Barbara saw the future in all its glory. She walked with a joyful song in her heart; her heart was filled with the greatness of the hope that lives and loves within us and she shinned as a beacon of light around us. She will be missed greatly. Calling hours will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 16, at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, Nov. 17, at the Reach Out Church, Crum Elbow Rd., Hyde Park. Entombment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, Poughkeepsie. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Reach Out Church for Over Comers Church in Oradea, Romania.
