Obituary of Claudio DiVitto

Claudio DiVitto, age 80, of Poughkeepsie, New York died Friday, February 18, 2011 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie. Mr. DiVitto was born July 7, 1930 in Roccaraso, Italy, the son of the late Aldo and the late Clotilde DiVitto. He married Marcella DiPaolo April 21, 1963 in Roccaraso, Italy. Mrs. DiVitto survives at home. Claudio loved to Garden, but most of all it was his family that meant the most to him. He was employed by Local 60 Hawthorne New York as a Laborer, retiring in 1989. Mr. DiVitto was a member Holy Trinity Church in Poughkeepsie and a member of the Italian Center Poughkeepsie. He is survived by his wife of Poughkeepsie, daughter and son in-law, Antoinette and Antonio Peixoto of Poughkeepsie, NY; son and daughter in-law, Alfredo and Sharon DiVitto of Pawling, NY; son and daughter in-law, Enzo and Gail DiVitto of Patterson, New York; grandchildren, Joseph, David, Dylan DiVitto and Anna Peixoto, one sister: Diemetra DiBattista, brothers, Pasquale, Salvatore, Mario DiVitto, Severino and Dino DiVitto. Calling hours will be Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. The funeral will be Tuesday 11:30 at Holy Trinity Church, 775 Main Street, Poughkeepsie where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
