Obituary of Ernest Dodd

Ernest Spencer Dodd, 62, from the city of Poughkeepsie, died Sunday, June 19, 2011 at his home. Born on September 3, 1948 in Richmond District Parish, Jamaica, he was the son of Charles and Aldith Evans Dodd. A local resident since 1977 and previously of Jamaica, Mr. Dodd worked as a manager at the Nardone Farms in Highland, NY, retiring January 2009. Ernest liked to dance and loved listening to music and taking care of his garden. Mr. Dodd is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Spencer and Jamie Dodd of Wappingers Falls, NY, daughter Natasha Dodd of Poughkeepsie, his grandchildren Taisean and Taylor Dodd and Devyne Smith, his two brothers Valentine Dodd and Hugh Dodd, both of Jamaica, his sister Dorothy Beharze of Queens, NY and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 27, 2011 from 9:00 - 11:00am at the Beulah Baptist Church, 92 Catherine St., Poughkeepsie, NY. Burial will follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY.
