Obituary of Robert DuBois
Robert E. DuBois, Jr., 86, of Poughkeepsie, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010 at the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence. A lifelong area resident, he was employed as an Iron Worker for Local 417 in Newburgh. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He was a member of the 1st Baptist Church in Poughkeepsie. He loved history and also loved to read, especially Non Fiction. Born in Poughkeepsie on March 6, 1923, he was the son of Robert E., Sr and Edith Duncan DuBois. He attended Poughkeepsie High School. He was married to Helen Brinkama. Mrs. DuBois predeceased her husband in August 2005. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth Stanton and Stephen Halpern of Buffalo; son and daughter in law, John and Joy Statnton of Hilton Head, SC; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and William Carl of Lake Carmel; his sisters, Dorothy Kobos, Edith Hart and Harriet Lake, as well as eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Graveside services and burial will be held on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010 at 11 am.m at St. Peter's Cemetery, Salt Point Turnpike, Poughkeepsie. Memorial donations may be made to the Hospice Foundation, 374 Violet Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 or to the Kaplan Family Residence, 1 Sunrise Lane, Newburgh, NY 12550. Arrangements under the direction of the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie.
