Obituary of Ann Duffee

Ann T. Duffee, age 82, of Poughkeepsie died Thursday, May 26, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital, Poughkeepsie. Mrs. Duffee was born April 24, 1929 in Astoria Queens, NY the daughter of the late Charles and the late Mary Bridget (Doyle) Donahue. On January 27, 1951 in Medford MA, Ann married Richard F. Duffee; he predeceased her April 11, 2009. She was a Home Maker and 55 year local resident, previously of Astoria Queens. Ann was very involved with her Church, was extraordinary baker, and known as the cookie goddess. Ann was a member of St. Martin dePorres Church, St. Martin’s senior group and the Monday night prayer group. She was a graduate of Bryant High School; she attended Marist College Center for Life Time Studies and was a graduate of Dental Technician School in Manhattan. She is survived by one daughter: Mary Duffee of Tucson, AZ; daughter And son In-law, Diane And James Larivee of Lagrange, ILL; and one son: Richard Duffee of Essington, PA; Grandchildren, Claudia, Erica And Travis Larivee of Lagrange, ILL; sister Alice Pappaden of Franklin Park, NJ and sister In-law, Lorraine Jacobsen of Ashland, VA. Ann was predeceased by a grandson Alexander, a brother Charles Donahue and two sisters, Bernice Gartung and Caroline Gartung. Calling hours will be Friday from 4pm to 8pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. The funeral will be Saturday at 9:30am at St. Martin dePorres Church, Cedar Valley Road, Poughkeepsie where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
