Obituary of Clement Evans
Clement William Evans, 84, of the town of Poughkeepsie died Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Formerly of Billings, NY, Mr. Evans was born March 2, 1927 in Shenandoah, PA to Clement and Grace Evans. Mr. Evans served in the Navy during WWII. He married Lois Shaffer in January 1955 and his wife predeceased him in October 2008. He was a letter carrier for the US Post Office for 27 years. He had many hobbies including model trains, stamp and coin collecting and watching his favorite TV show, Walker Texas Ranger. His favorite thing was going to his church on Sunday, Trinity United Methodist Church in LaGrange. He loved the church and the congregation. Mr. Evans is survived by his children and their spouses, Dale and Raymond OâÂÂDonnell of Alabama, Harold and Cynthia Evans of Red Hook, NY and Laura and Richard Rexhouse of Poughkeepsie, NY. He is also survived by his sister Ruth Bradbury in Shenandoah, PA, his grandchildren Cory, Brittany, Amanda, John and Paul and his great-grandson Carter Rexhouse. The Family would like to thank his doctor, Dr. Lee and the nurses on the 3rd floor PCU at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 12, 2011 from 10:30am â 12:00pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. The funeral service will be held at 12:00pm following visitation in the funeral home. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the Family.
