Obituary of Asi Ewud

Asi Raji Ewud , 50 of Portsmouth, RI, formerly of Redding, CT passed away Friday, December 31 at Newport Hospital. He was born in Jordan on January 29, 1960 to Fawzieh and Raji Jweinat. He immigrated to Poughkeepsie, NY in 1976 and graduated from Poughkeepsie High School in 1978 and attended Dutchess Community College. Asi had a passion for flying and obtained his private, instrument and commercial licenses over the course of his lifetime. He married Sarah Kozma (Ewud) of Redding in 1984 and had four children, Rachael Ruby, Jessica Faith, Stephanie Alexa, and Jordan Asi of Redding. He was a Redding resident for 20 years. Asi owned and operated several restaurants in NewYork, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. His sense of humor will be deeply missed. He is survived and beloved by his mother, Fawzieh Nesheiwat Jweinat, four brothers, Issa, Isam, Adnah and AJ, five sisters, Ayda, Elaf, Afaf, Abeer, Awatef and Oraib. A memorial service will be held on Wed. January 5th at 6 pm at the Georgetown Bible Church, Route 107, in Georgetown, CT. The wake will be held at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave, Poughkeepsie, NY on Thursday, Jan. 6 from 4-8 pm. The funeral will be Friday, Jan. 7th at 10:30 am at St Andrews Episcopal Church Overlook Road, Poughkeepsie, NY. Burial will follow at St. Peters Cemetery.
