Obituary of Lura Fredrickson

Lura G. Fredrickson, 87, a lifetime resident, died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008 at Wingate at Ulster. Mrs. Fredrickson was a home maker. Born July 3, 1921 in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of Lewis E. and Ester Adams Harvey. She was a graduate of Poughkeepsie High School and Eastman Business School. On Jan. 5, 1946, in St. Peter's Church, Poughkeepsie, she married Edward A. Fredrickson. Mr. Fredrickson died Jan. 15, 1995. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, James and Constance Fredrickson of LaGrange; her son and daughter-in-law, David and Pauline Fredrickson; her brother, Edgar Harvey of Hopewell Junction; her grandchildren, James Scott and Ivona Fredrickson of New Jersey; Karen Fredrickson of California; Lura Marie Fredrickson of Poughkeepsie; Joshua Fredrickson of Massachusetts; Amy Elizabeth Fredrickson of Washington, DC; great-grandchildren, Olivia Grace Fredrickson and Griffen Alexander Fredrickson of New Jersey; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by Edward M. Fredrickson in August 2005. Calling hours will be 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 5, at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 6, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, South Ave., Poughkeepsie.
