Obituary of Norma Gallagher

Norma J. Gallagher, 80, of City of Poughkeepsie, died October 23, 2008 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She had worked as a salesperson for Flahs Clothing Store, Poughkeepsie, having previously worked at IBM Poughkeepsie. She retired in 1988. A local resident for most of her life, she also resided in Woodstock, New York. She was a Member of the Poughkeepsie Glee Club and Community Mixed Chorus. Born in Woodstock, NY on December 16, 1927, she was the daughter of Gerald Reynolds and Ada Belle McDaniels. She attended Poughkeepsie High School. On July 27, 1947, in Poughkeepsie, New York, she married Thomas P. Gallagher. He predeceased her on April 18, 1981. Survivors include Daughter And Son In-law; Margaret "Peggy" And James Grant, Poughkeepsie, NY; Daughter And Son In-law; Michelle And Kim Phillips, Poughkeepsie, NY; Brother; Donald Reynolds, Lexington, KY; Adopted Grandchildren; Lauren Storm and Garrett Hylander; Her Cat OREO and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sister Ruth Freer August 8, 2008. Memorial donations to: American Heart Assoc., Manchester Road, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. Calling hours will be held Sunday October 26, 2008 from 4pm to 8pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. Funeral service will be held 10:00 am, Monday, October 27, 2008 at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Peters Cemetery, Salt Point Turnpike, Poughkeepsie, NY.
