Obituary of Jeanne Galliano
Jeanne M. Galliano, 56 of New Paltz, NY passed away on March 4th at Kaplan Family Residence after a valiant and very courageous battle with cancer. Born on Oct 28th, 1954 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Adele Quenzer. Jeanne grew up in Setauket, NY, and graduated from Ward Melville High School. On November 9th 1975 at St James Roman Catholic Church in Setauket, she married Philip J. Galliano, whom she loved deeply after 35 years of marriage. Jeanne was a wonderful, happy woman who loved life, and was known for her big friendly smile, infectious laugh, and her big brown eyes. She was very devoted to her family, especially her children and grandchildren, and loved spending time with her friends. She had an ability to make anyone smile. Jeanne loved gardening, especially her wildflower garden, and enjoyed traveling, especially to the Myrtle Beach, SC area, her weekend getaways, dining out, reading, shopping, cooking, her Beatles music, and just hanging around playing Scrabble. Jeanne was recently retired as Executive Assistant to the Superintendent for Carmel Central School District. She also served as Clerk of the Board. She will be remembered by all for her strong will, amazing strength and bravery, positive attitude, grace, and never complaining, all while facing a very brutal, aggressive illness. In addition to her beloved husband Philip, she is survived by her two daughters Corinne Beirne and her husband Kevin of Stratford, Ct, Alison Dailey and her husband Derek of Holmdel, NJ, two grandsons Justin and Carter, and granddaughter Madeline Adele. She is also survived by her brother Charles Quenzer, and his wife Janet of Alexandria, Va, her sister Marianne Hayden of Ballston Spa, her brother Neal Quenzer and wife Deborah of Scituate, Mass, sister-in-law Diane Zartner of Deltona Fl, nephews Chris, Jason, Nick, and Chuck, nieces Colleen, Courtney, and Eleanor, and many cousins. Funeral services will be at Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave Poughkeepsie on Wednesday March 9th from 2-4pm & 7-9pm, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday March 10th at 10am at Holy Trinity Church, 775 Main Street Poughkeepsie, followed by burial at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
