Obituary of Josephine Greco
Josephine P. Greco, 83, of the Town of Poughkeepsie, NY, passed away on August 19, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital. She had previously worked as a Dietitian for Vassar Brothers Hospital, retiring in 1986. She was a local resident since 1955, previously residing in Catanzaro, Italy. Josephine was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel of St. Peter's Church, and she loved to cook, crochet, and loved being with her family. She was born on March 4, 1927 in Catanzaro, Italy, the daughter of Salvatore Ferragina and Cecelia Sita. She attended schools in Italy. On December 7, 1946, she married Salvatore Greco in Italy. Her husband predeceased her in December of 1979. Josephine is survived by her son and daughter in law, Vincent and Mary Greco of Poughkeepsie, NY, her daughter and son in law, Marisa and John Lee of Poughkeepsie, NY, her son and daughter in law, Frank and Sally Greco of St. Louis, MO, her brother, Salvatore Ferragina, and her sister, Teresa Timpano. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Dawn Lacativa and husband Christopher, Christina McPeck and husband Scott, Salvatore Lee and his fiance Amanda, Brian Lee and wife Rebbecca, Timothy and Julia Greco and Giuliana Greco, and her great grandchildren, Anthony Lacativa, Benjamin Lee, Luciana Lee and Edward Greco. She was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, New York Office, 333 Seventh Ave., 17th Floor, New York, NY 10001. Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 23, 2010 from 4 to 8pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 10am at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel of St. Peter's Church. Father James A. Garisto will officiate. Burial will take place in St. Peter's Cemetery.
