Obituary of Patricia Hering

Patricia M. Hering, 80, lifetime resident of the Town of Poughkeepsie, died July 12, 2009 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She worked in Quality Control for Shatz Federal Bearing and also was a waitress for the Chef Inn, as well as as being a homemaker. She was a long time member of St. Mary's Church, as well as St. Martin de Porres Church. She will be missed for her friendliness, wonderful cooking, sense of humor and her ever-lasting generosity. She attended St. Mary's Parochial School, as well as Wappingers Falls School System. Born March 13, 1929, in Wappingers Falls, she was the daughter of Anthony and Margaret Murrill. On July 17, 1949, she married Ronald Hering, who survives at home. Survivors include sons, John of Poughkeepsie, NY; Ronald L. Hering of Staatsburg, NY; daughter, Katharine Gugumuck and husband Fredrick of Swanton, VT; six grandchildren, Christopher Gugumuck of Saint Albans, VT.; as well as David, Laura, and Karen of Swanton, VT. She is survived by her granddaughter Lindsay Owens and her husband Allan of Poughkeepsie, NY and Brian Hering. She is also survived by her sister, Bernadette DiNitto of Newburgh, NY as well as several nieces and other loved ones. Calling hours are Monday July 20, 2009 from 4pm to 8pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., Poughkeepsie, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at 10:00am at St. Martin de Porres Church. Burial will be at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, South Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY.
