Obituary of Robert Hicks

Robert A. Hicks, 85, of Red Hook died Friday, August 5, 2011 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie. Robert was born Poughkeepsie New York on August 10, 1928, the son of the late Nelson and the late Hanna (Smith) Hicks. On May 14, 1949 Robert married Virginia M. Sheldon in Pleasant Valley New York. Virginia predeceased him on December 6, 2007. Robert was employed by as a Research Development Technique for IBM, retiring after 30 years of service. Robert has been a local resident all his life; he lived in LaGrange and recently moved to Red Hook New York. He is survived by one daughter: Sue Ann Koogler of Citrus Heights California; Daughter and Son In-law, Linda Lee and Timothy Carey of Red Hook New York; Grandson And His Wife, Ryan Marshall And Jennifer Carey of Red Hook New York; Granddaughter, Malissa Koogler of Citrus Heights California and his brother Donald Hicks of Poughkeepsie. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 6pm to 8pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. The funeral will be Wednesday at 10:00 at Timothy P.
