Obituary of Martha Holland

Martha B. Holland, 97, a resident of the Town of Poughkeepsie, passed away on August 21, 2010 at the Lutheran Care Center. She had been an English Teacher in the Toledo, Ohio School District. She was a three year local resident, previously residing in Frankfurt, Michigan and Toledo, Ohio. Martha was an avid reader and loved to play bridge weekly with her sisters. She had a life long involvement with classical music along with her husband, mother, brothers, sisters and her children. She was born on November 25, 1912 in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of David McClure and Martha Consaul. She attended Dennison University. On November 25, 1937, she married Kenneth Holland in Toledo, Ohio. Her husband predeceased her in 1987. Survivors include her son and daughter in-law; Dave and Joan Holland, Interlock, Michigan, her son and daughter in-law; John and Mary Holland, Lexington, KT, her daughter and son in-law; Marla Rathbun and Claudius Feger, Poughkeepsie, NY, her grandchildren; Jennifer, John and Erica Holland, and Joshua and Benjamin Rathbun. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Martha was predeceased by seven brothers and sisters. A memorial gathering will be held privately.
