Obituary of Donald Jackson

Donald A. Jackson, age 79, of Calabash, NC died Sunday, December 26, 2010 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. Mr. Jackson was born February 4, 1931 in the Bronx, the son of the late Martin and the late Edith (Nelson) Jackson. He lived in Yorktown, NY from 1966 to 1989, when he moved to NC. He served in the US Navy, and was employed by Don Jackson Service as a Steam Fitter, retiring in 1989. He was an avid golfer and loved to fish. He married Eileen Ruchti on August 15, 1954 in the Bronx. His wife predeceased him on June 30, 2003. He is survived by his sons, Donald and his wife Donna Jackson of PA, Todd Jackson of Poughkeepsie and his grandchildren: Ashley Jackson, Victoria Jackson, Donny Jackson, Daniel Jackson and Dionna Jackson. His brother John Jackson of NJ also survives. There are no calling hours and the burial is private and at the convenience of the Family. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
