Obituary of Patti Karcher
Patti K. Karcher, 58, a resident of the Town of Poughkeepsie for 11 years, formerly of Binghamton, NY, passed away at Vassar Brothers Medical Center after a long, courageous struggle with cancer on December 7, 2009. She was employed by Federal Express in Binghamton, NY. She operated a Home Interiors Decorating sales business and worked for several local businesses, retiring in 2004. Patti was active in the Dyson Cancer Center Support Group and the Stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer Support Group. Born in Utica, NY on March 31, 1951, she was the daughter of Glenn and Dorothy Carmen Miller. On January 24, 1998 she married Roger W. Karcher in Poughkeepsie, NY. Mr. Karcher survives at home. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, James Snow, his wife, Ranee and six-year old granddaughter, Shayla Brynn of Germantown, NY; grandson, Dylan James Snow, 14, of Red Hook, NY; a son, Darren Snow of Portland, OR; and a step-daughter, Megan Karcher of Rhinebeck, NY. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2009, 10:00 am - 12:00 noon, at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Thursday following calling hours at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Patti's name to the Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation at www.miles of hope.org.
