Obituary of Chester Karpinski
Chester J. " Chet" Karpinski 83 of the Town of Poughkkepsie died December 3, 2011 surrounded by his family. Born June 26, 1928 he was the youngest son of Stella Subchak and John Karpinski. On May 18, 1957 in Brooklyn New York he married Lorraine Simonetti. He was a veteran of the United States Army, was a 1950 graduate from Brooklyn Community College. Chet was a commercial artist for Central Hudson Gas and Electric Corporation retiring after 28 years of service. Chet was a member of Holy Trinity Church of Poughkeepsie. His life long passions have been fishing, painting and gardening. He began painting in water colors and later in acrylics. His artwork has been on display in financial institution, schools, doctor offices and homes of his many friends. Chet family will surely miss him and his ability to make them laugh. Chet is survived by his wife Lorraine at home, his son Steven Karpinski and his wife Mary Beth Walker of Rennseler NY, daughter Karen O'Brien and her husband Dave of Matthews NC, daughter Lisa O'Leary and her husband Scott of Valtie NY and his son Christopher Karpinski of Poughkeepsie . He is also survived by six grandchildren, Alexander and Zachary Karpinski , Jesse and Davis O'Brien, Wesley and Angelina O'Leary. He is survived by several nieces and nephews and predecessor by three sisters and one brother. Calling hours will be Tuesday December 6, 2011 from 6pm to 8pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie NY 12603. A Memorial Mass will be held December 28, 2011 10am at Holy Trinity Church Poughkeepsie.
